Bayu-Undan is a gas condensate field located offshore in the Timor Sea within the Joint Petroleum Development Area (JPDA). The field is 250 kilometres southwest of Suai in Timor Leste and 500 kilometres northwest of the Northern Territory in Australia. ConocoPhillips operates the field on behalf of co-venturers Santos, Inpex, ENI, Tokyo Electric and Tokyo Gas.
The Bayu-Undan project has contributed more than US$18 billion in taxes and other payments to the Timor-Leste Petroleum Fund since 2004. They have also invested a further $77 million through local content activity including employment and training, procurement and community investment.
Conoco Phillips engaged Bondstrong for supply and fabrication of a GRE spool to replace the defective spools on the Compression, Utilities and Quarters (CUQ). Bondstrong provided specialist labour services of experienced pipefitters & engineers, fully trained and certified to ISO 14692 Part 4, for fabrication & testing of the GRE Spools over a period of 3 weeks.
Scope comprised of providing the following pertaining to the water storage tanks;
